Open ended endings ever lending to an open hand
Endlessly relentless needing filled but never filling in
Open wide and take it. Wasting, wonder if it ever stops
Endlessly devour wounded, worried, weeping broken hearts
Carelessly divided, never even. Never even cared
Recklessness is wrecking wreaking havoc on the naked bare
Carelessly decided to deny the chance to change the course
Recklessness is wretched when the wicked warp with no remorse
Who is this? The avatar. Walking tall, incarnate sin
How could he ever come to face the faces of faceless dead
Who is this? Thrown overboard. Flailing, drowning in the womb
How could he learn to touch the truth? His body in an open wound

From this angle...
You were always so hard to forget
you'd linger in a room
after you'd left
you'd cloud minds
muddle thoughts
interrupt lovely
daydreams
at least to me you did
I remember everything
your touch
your scent
your smile
the venom you spat when
you found out
and now
the thing I remember the most
is how your shoes looked
as I watched you walk away
lying on the ground
your lace was untied
you'd linger in a room
after you'd left
you'd cloud minds
muddle thoughts
interrupt lovely
daydreams
at least to me you did
I remember everything
your touch
your scent
your smile
the venom you spat when
you found out
and now
the thing I remember the most
is how your shoes looked
as I watched you walk away
lying on the ground
your lace was untied

One Shot Wednesday: A Sonnet
My hands are a blistered, burned reminder
Singing simple warning shots
Of the fire that is all around her
I've danced with danger until I've dropped
I touch, they peel. My mind explodes
Each surge deserving of her voice
Poignant purpose of palindromes
Multiplicity in her every choice
No hope for healing hands of grace
Or lips to cleanse my ashen mind
Memories mirror will now replace
The face of every love I find
But by favor of the autumn wind
Am I given a chance to feel again?
Singing simple warning shots
Of the fire that is all around her
I've danced with danger until I've dropped
I touch, they peel. My mind explodes
Each surge deserving of her voice
Poignant purpose of palindromes
Multiplicity in her every choice
No hope for healing hands of grace
Or lips to cleanse my ashen mind
Memories mirror will now replace
The face of every love I find
But by favor of the autumn wind
Am I given a chance to feel again?
